An automated tool crib is a storeroom or tool room where access, check-out, and inventory tracking are handled by hardware and software instead of a human clerk. Workers authenticate at the door (badge, PIN, or facial recognition), entry and exit are logged with video, and items checked out are tied to the user via scan or RFID. SecuraCrib is one approach - it converts an existing room rather than requiring a new dispensing mechanism.
SecuraStock is a vending cabinet. SecuraCrib is a software-and-hardware overlay on a room you already have. Vending machines work for items that fit inside a coil or shelf and dispense at high volume. SecuraCrib works for everything that doesn't - bulk inventory, oversized items, palletized stock, mixed-shape consumables.
Between 4 and 32, scaled to the room. A 200 square foot crib runs on 4 cameras. A 5,000 square foot warehouse storeroom can use up to 32. The distributor sales engineer specs the camera count during the demo based on sight lines, blind spots, and entry-point coverage.
Yes. Facial recognition is one of three standard access methods, alongside RFID badge and PIN keypad. Most plants combine methods - badge for primary access, facial recognition for off-shift or backup. The system logs whichever method was used per transaction.
No. Because there is no vending mechanism dispensing physical items from coils or shelves, there is no SKU count cap. SecuraSmart software handles unlimited part numbers. The practical limit is whatever your storeroom physically holds.
Three options. First, workers scan a barcode on the bin or item at check-out using a SecuraScan handheld. Second, RFID readers (SecuraWave) auto-detect tagged items moving through the door. Third, periodic cycle counts via SecuraScan walkthroughs reconcile the room's stock against expected levels.
Existing rooms are the typical install. SecuraCrib retrofits onto whatever room you have - closet-sized to warehouse-scale. The install replaces the door hardware, mounts the cameras, and connects to your network. Most installs complete in a single shift without disrupting the inventory inside.
Three years on the locking, authentication, and camera hardware. Software access (SecuraSmart) is included for the life of the install. Extended warranty options are available through your authorized distributor.
