What is SecuraTrack?+

SecuraTrack is a portable inventory tracking system from SecuraStock. It is a bench-mounted unit with an onboard CPU that runs inventory check-in/check-out, expiration tracking, and calibration tracking. It pairs with SecuraScan for handheld scanning and feeds data into SecuraSmart cloud. It is typically the entry point into automated inventory management for plants that are not ready to install a full vending machine.

How is SecuraTrack different from a SecuraStock vending machine?+

SecuraStock vending dispenses items from a cabinet - magnetized shelving, 250 SKU capacity. SecuraTrack does not dispense anything. It is a tracking unit that records inventory transactions when workers check items in or out manually, usually with a paired SecuraScan handheld. Lower cost, faster install, no SKU limit.

Does SecuraTrack work without internet?+

Yes. The onboard CPU runs all the tracking and transaction logging locally. The 4-hour battery backup keeps it running through power outages. When network connectivity is restored, queued transactions sync to SecuraSmart cloud automatically.

What is the SKU limit on SecuraTrack?+

None. Because there is no physical dispensing mechanism, the SKU count is software-tracked through SecuraSmart and unlimited. Track 100 SKUs, track 50,000.

Can SecuraTrack track expiration dates and calibration cycles?+

Yes. SecuraSmart software handles expiration date tracking (for materials with shelf life) and calibration cycle tracking (for instruments and tools that need periodic recertification). Alerts fire when items approach their date thresholds.

How does SecuraTrack expand into the full SecuraStock lineup?+

Add modules over time. SecuraLocker for tool and asset check-out. SecuraTower for compact vending of consumables. SecuraScales for weight-based bin tracking. All modules feed the same SecuraSmart dashboard, so the inventory picture stays unified as the system grows.

What is the battery runtime on SecuraTrack?+

Up to 4 hours on the onboard battery backup. The unit keeps logging transactions during power outages, then resumes normal operation when power returns. The local data syncs to cloud when connectivity is available.

What is the warranty on SecuraTrack?+

Three years standard. The mechanism is mechanically simpler than vending hardware - fewer parts to fail. Most warranty events are software or sync issues, which are typically resolved remotely.

Can SecuraTrack be used inside a crib or storeroom?+

Yes – that is one of its most common uses. Dropped into a manned crib or storeroom, SecuraTrack becomes the check-in and check-out brain for the whole room without changing the door or the layout. The attendant scans items in and out against SecuraSmart; expirations and calibration cycles are tracked the same as on the plant floor. When the room is ready for unattended control it upgrades to a SecuraCrib unit with no data re-entry.

Can we add scales to the room to count faster and more accurately?+

Yes. SecuraScales weight-based bins add fast, accurate counting on the parts nobody wants to hand-count – fasteners, fittings, terminals, consumables. The scale counts as fast as someone sets a bin down and it does not miscount on a night shift. Cycle counts that took a shift drop to minutes, and the number is right.

Can we add vending inside the room for the critical items?+

Yes, and most rooms do. Not everything in the room needs the same control. Put the high-value and critical items – calibrated tools, controlled spares, anything you cannot afford to lose – in a SecuraStock vending unit inside the room. The room stays open for bulk and oversized stock; the critical items come out one at a time, badge-issued, tied to a person, with a hard limit.

Should the room log usage with a scanner or the mobile app?+

Both work and both feed SecuraSmart; most rooms run both. The SecuraSmart mobile app ties every transaction cleanly to a named individual and is the cheaper way in, with no scanner hardware to buy – best for regular staff and tighter budgets. SecuraScan handhelds are faster at the point of pickup and mean you do not have to manage an app on every worker's phone – best for high-traffic rooms and contractor crews.
