What are SecuraBins?
SecuraBins are smart inventory bins and trays for industrial MRO, PPE, and fastener storage. Each bin sits on a SecuraScales weight-based platform that translates bin weight into a live count. The bin tracks what's in it, flags low stock, and feeds the number into SecuraSmart in real time. No barcodes, no manual counts.
How are SecuraBins different from SecuraScales?
SecuraScales is the underlying weight platform - the hardware that does the measuring. SecuraBins is the integrated product: the bin or tray plus the scale plus the SecuraSmart software handling SKU assignment, alerts, and reorder triggers. If you want to buy the scale alone and pair it with your own bins, that's SecuraScales. If you want a ready-to-deploy bin with the tracking built in, that's SecuraBins.
Do SecuraBins need to be calibrated?
No. They ship pre-calibrated from the factory and never require recalibration during their service life. This is the same design choice as SecuraScales - no exposed sensitive components, no buttons or screens on the unit, nothing that walks off accuracy after a forklift bump.
How accurate are SecuraBins?
0.1 ounce sensitivity across the full 75-pound range. Same precision at 1 oz of inventory as at 75 lb. Accurate enough to count individual fasteners, small SMT components, or PPE items where eyeballing the bin gives a useless answer.
Can SecuraBins detect foreign objects in the bin?
Yes. The scale builds a baseline weight profile for the assigned SKU. When something foreign goes in - a wrench, debris, a wrong part - the weight doesn't match the profile and SecuraSmart flags it. The bin keeps operating so the team can investigate without taking the bin out of service. Aerospace customers buy SecuraBins specifically for this FOD prevention angle.
Where can SecuraBins be deployed?
Three configurations cover most use cases. Inside a SecuraStock vending unit for high-security point-of-use. Inside a SecuraLocker or SecuraTower for open-access shelving with cameras. Or directly on customer-owned shelving for the lowest-cost deployment - hundreds or thousands of SecuraBins on existing racks, no vending cabinet required.
What is the warranty on SecuraBins?
Three years standard, same as the rest of the SecuraStock lineup. The mechanism is mechanically simple - no motors, no dispensers, just the scale plate and the bin. Most warranty events resolve remotely via SecuraSmart.
Can SecuraBins integrate with the rest of the SecuraStock lineup?
Yes. SecuraBins were designed to drop into every SecuraStock product. SecuraStock vending, SecuraLocker, SecuraTower, SecuraCrib storerooms, or open-access shelving - SecuraBins feed counts into the same SecuraSmart dashboard so the inventory picture stays unified.
