Smart Lockers for the Tools and Assets That Do Not Fit a Coil
Some things should not sit in a coil dispenser. Power tools. Laptops. Calibration gauges. SecuraLocker is the smart locker built for those items - modular, badge-controlled, with a video log of every check-out and a charging port inside.
when a vending machine is not the right answer
Lockers earn their keep where coils and carousels cannot
Industrial vending solves the high-volume, low-cost-per-item problem. Drill bits. Safety glasses. Cutting fluid. Hundreds of consumables that need to flow.
What about the cordless impact driver that costs $400 and walks off the floor every quarter? Or the laptop that has to charge between shifts? Or the calibration kit that the QC team checks out for two days at a time? That is where lockers earn their keep - and what SecuraLocker was built around, not as an afterthought to a vending machine, but as a separate format with its own logic.

what is different about securalocker
Modular doors. Built-in charging. Per-user audit trail.
SecuraLocker has eighteen large zones. Perfect for hand tools, cordless tools, laptops, or safety and PPE gear. SecuraLocker comes standard with SecuraScales to ensure your inventory is 100% all of the time. Same authentication options as the rest of the SecuraStock lineup: badge, PIN, mobile, or 2D barcode scan. Standard per-compartment trickle charging keeps laptops, tablets, scanners, and cordless tools ready for the next shift.
Manual tool crib vs SecuraLocker
A traditional crib needs a person staffing it. SecuraLocker does not. Workers authenticate at the locker, the right door unlocks, the transaction logs automatically. No clipboard, no missing items at end of shift.
| Capability | Manual tool crib | SecuraLocker |

| Charging for electronics | Manual on a bench, easy to forget | Built-in trickle charge per compartment |
| Zone Size | Typically Less than 2 Cubic Feet | 2.5 Cubic Feet |
| ERP / inventory integration | Spreadsheet | Native (SAP, Oracle, Plex via SecuraSmart) |
| Returnable asset tracking | Manual reconciliation | Auto-checked-in on return scan |

What ends up inside SecuraLocker
Cordless power tools (drills, impact drivers, grinders) | Laptops, tablets, ruggedized field devices | Calibration kits, gauges, micrometers | High-value safety equipment (fall-arrest harnesses, respirators) | Test equipment for same-day return | Lab kits assigned to a specific person
For aerospace and FAA-traceable tooling, the per-user check-out log doubles as the chain-of-custody record. Pair with SecuraStock for high-volume consumables, SecuraScan for barcode point-of-use, or SecuraChem for flammable assets needing fire-rated containment.

Frequently asked questions
Eight questions buyers ask before scheduling a SecuraLocker demo.
What is a smart vending locker?+
A smart vending locker is an electronically controlled storage cabinet that dispenses or stores assets behind authenticated, individually addressable doors. Unlike a vending machine that dispenses consumables in fixed quantities, a smart locker hands out the whole asset (a laptop, a power tool, a calibration kit) and tracks who has it and when it is due back.
How is SecuraLocker different from a regular tool crib?+
A traditional tool crib needs a person to staff it. SecuraLocker does not. Workers authenticate at the locker, the right door unlocks, the transaction logs automatically with timestamp and user, and the asset is recorded as checked out. No clipboard, no sign-out sheet, no missing items at end of shift because someone forgot to write it down.
Can SecuraLocker charge electronics inside the compartment?+
Trickle charging is standard for laptops, tablets, scanners, cordless power tools, and any device that needs to come back charged. The compartment maintains the charge between check-outs so the asset is ready for the next shift.
How big are the locker compartments?+
Fixed. The SecuaLocker main unit ships with 18 12"x12"x18" zoned compartments. The add-on ships with 15 zoned compartments standard of the same dimensions as the main unit. The largest available locker space on the market.
Does SecuraLocker work with SecuraStock vending in the same dashboard?+
Yes. Both products use SecuraSmart software, so the locker check-out logs and the vending machine consumption data show up in the same inventory dashboard. The same user authentication works across all units. Most plants run SecuraLocker as an add-on to existing SecuraStock vending - same admin, same reports, one system to maintain.
What authentication does SecuraLocker support?+
RFID badge scan, PIN entry, mobile app unlock through SecuraSmart, or 2D barcode scan. Sites with existing badge infrastructure usually plug SecuraLocker into the same RFID system. New deployments often start with mobile app for the lowest setup cost.
What is the warranty on SecuraLocker?+
Three years. Same as the rest of the SecuraStock lineup. The locker mechanism is mechanically simpler than a vending machine - fewer moving parts, fewer failure modes - which is why we can stand behind it for the longer term.
Can I install SecuraLocker outdoors or in unconditioned space?+
The standard unit is built for indoor industrial environments (warehouses, plant floors, secured outbuildings). For exposed outdoor placement, distributor sales engineering can spec a weather-rated enclosure. Talk to your distributor about ambient temperature range and humidity exposure when you spec the install.
